About the Network

The Teddington Travel to Work Network began in November 2007 and is made up of a number of organisation representatives who meet regularly to discuss travel to work issues effecting their workplaces.
It aims to improve workplace travel options for staff and reduce the number of single car occupancy trips to and from work in the Teddington area through promoting and facilitating alternative modes of travel such as cycling, walking and public transport use. The network is a joint initiative developed by SWELTRAC and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
In May 2010 the network was highly commended at the European Platform on Mobility Management (EPOMM) Awards in Graz. This provided an opportunity to promote Teddington on the European stage alongside the best examples of travel planning in other countries. The shortlisted application is available for download here. This document is an interesting read, containing details on a large number of the successes of the network to date.
In November 2010 the network was awarded a prize for the Best Cycling Event for Teddington Bike to Work Week 2010 at the London Cycling Awards. We were delighted to collect the award ahead of strong competition, with the judges particularly commenting on the success of the network approach to the events.
