Travel Plans Newsletter - First edition
Welcome to the first edition of the SWELTRAC Travel Plans newsletter! We hope that you will find the information, advice and offers useful and that you will pick up some ideas for developing your travel plan in 2010.
If you have any feedback on the newsletter or would just like to get in touch, please email us or visit our website for our contact details.
Rebrand
We have recently been through a rebranding of the SWELTRAC image. We felt that our previous look was getting dated so we now have a fresh new logo and a new website. We have also launched a dedicated travel plans sub-site, which includes up to date information on the benefits and incentives offered by the team, as well as case studies and useful links. Visit the travel plans website.
Travel Plan launches
We have recently helped to launch travel plans at Royal Star and Garter Home, Richmond Hill and Smith & Byford, Cheam. SWELTRAC travel advisors were on hand to help launch the Smith & Byford travel plan, offering advice and information to staff. During the launch event a folding bike was offered as a prize for a member of staff. More details on our latest travel plan launches are available here.
Car Club offer
SWELTRAC partner businesses are eligible for free benefits when signing up to corporate membership with Streetcar in January! We are delighted to offer organisations free driving time and additional staff memberships with Streetcar. Corporate membership will allow staff to use a car for business trips, which is likely to significantly reduce your fleet cost and encourage staff not to commute by car.
Challenge Funds
For a limited time only, SWELTRAC is offering up to £5,000 match funding for initiatives to support workplace travel plans. This can be used to fund showers, pool bikes, cycle shelters, videoconferencing facilities or anything else that will improve the transport situation at your site.
Oyster on National Rail
Pay As You Go (PAYG) Oyster has been accepted on all National Rail Services in London as well as Thames River boats from January 2nd. Oyster PAYG will generally be cheaper than buying cash single fares and some fares could fall by more than a third with Oyster extended to every National Rail station in London. Please see our website for more information.
Cycling through winter
With a bit of information and some basic gear, cycling in winter is as easy and safe as it is in the summer months. For some encouragement and a few tips, click here.
Enterprise
We would like to advise our partner businesses that the Enterprise branded product will be coming to an end in March. SWELTRAC will continue to offer the same level of support and assistance with developing workplace travel plans. More information will follow next month, by which time we hope to have further details on the additional benefits that we will be able to offer.
