Electric vehicles
Since 2007, SWELTRAC worked with Transport for London and other partners to install a series of electric vehicle charging points across the south and west London sub-region.
Twenty three charging units have been installed in seven of our partner Boroughs (four new points to follow in Croydon shortly) and electric vehicle users have been able to register to use any of these points. If you live or work in one of the SWELTRAC boroughs you can apply for membership of our Electric Vehicle Charging Point scheme by using the registration forms found on our documents page. Registered users of the SWELTRAC scheme may also use any of the Elektrobay charging points located in the City of Westminster. Most or all of the SWELTRAC EV charging points will become part of a new pan-London scheme, Source London, due to commence in late April or early May 2011. This will mean that any registered users of our SWELTRAC points will be able to use any other charging points across London that are also part of the pan-London scheme. Further details can be found on the Source London web site at www.sourcelondon.net

SWELTRAC has worked closely with Transport for London to support the ambitions of the Mayor of London to see 25,000 charging points installed by 2015 and the use of 100,000 electric vehicles in the capital by 2020.
In preparation for the Mayor of London's new pan-London charging point network, the web site www.sourcelondon.net has been launched providing a 'one stop shop' of information on electric vehicles, including charge point locations across the city. Source London, which will deliver 1,300 public charging points across London by 2013, is part of the Mayor's plans for London to become the electric vehicle capital of Europe.
