SWELTRAC was a proactive transport partnership covering South & West London, ending on 31st March 2011. It consisted of 10 London Boroughs working in partnership with Surrey County Council, Spelthorne Borough Council, bus and train operators, transport authorities and passenger and business interests. SWELTRAC worked closely with Transport for London to implement measures to ease congestion, promote the use of public transport and improve the accessibility and passenger experience of using trains, buses and other forms of sustainable transport – including the promotion of the health benefits of walking and cycling. Working through and with our partners, we aimed to develop and implement proposals which made a major contribution towards promoting sustainable development, easing congestion and providing greater choice of transport modes.
